Cafe Boulud is a beloved and elegant French restaurant helmed by the renowned chef Daniel Boulud. The ambiance is refined yet welcoming, capturing the essence of classic French dining. The menu changes seasonally, and every dish I’ve tried has been exceptional. The steak prepared two ways stands out as one of the most memorable dishes I’ve ever had, and the lobster ravioli is a true highlight—expertly crafted and full of depth and flavor. For dessert, the chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet is a perfect finale, offering a beautifully balanced finish to the meal. This Michelin-starred establishment is absolutely worth a visit.

Even the hottest night of the summer and an unexpected thunder shower couldn’t put a damper on the spectacular dinner I experienced at Cafe Boulud. Chef Daniel Boulud’s exquisite vision came through in every bite, and the restaurant’s refined yet welcoming atmosphere made for a truly memorable evening. What truly elevated the night, however, was the exceptional service from my server, Daniel. His knowledge of each dish and thoughtful recommendations made all the difference, he was the perfect guide through a beautifully curated meal. I began with the Gazpacho de Concombre, a chilled creamy cucumber soup that was a masterclass in balance; refreshing herbs mingled with sweet grapes to create a dish both soothing and surprising, perfect for a sweltering summer night. Next came the Tarte Carotte-Vadouvan, a curried-inspired celebration of rainbow carrots layered over a crisp pecorino romano sable (that deliciously echoed the flavor of Gruyere). It was both inventive and deeply comforting. For the main course, the Canard Aux Montmorency was the star of the evening: roasted duck breast paired with tart cherries, a rich confit leg ravioli, and delicate shavings of cured foie gras. It was a dish that sang in layers; earthy, sweet, savory, and complex in all the right ways. And finally, dessert: the Gateau Chocolat Mure. This decadent devil’s food cake with dark chocolate licorice creme and a vibrant blackberry sorbet was the perfect ending to a rich, elegant finale that left me floating. The dining room is both glamorous and quaint, offering elegance without pretense. It’s rare to find a space that feels upscale yet family-friendly, but Cafe Boulud strikes the balance effortlessly. Chef Daniel Boulud and his team have more than earned their Michelin star. This was not just a meal, it was a perfect escape.

I’ve been here few times even when they were still in Madison Avenue. It’s a great French restaurant with good food and good people. The atmosphere is I think better than they used to be in Madison Ave. Service is 5 star from the host, servers and managers. They always check on their guests and made sure everything is good.

Wow! I really cannot say enough good about this restaraunt. I had the opportunity to dine here for my birthday dinner, and it truly was a most pleasurable experience. First, the atmosphere is spectacular. From the beautiful decor to the spectacular lighting, each aspect of the experience is as ideal as it gets. Next, the great service. All of the staff are friendly and informative. They are happy to give food or drink recommendations and they are always attentive. And of course, the food. Each aspect of the menu is perfectly curated, with a great variety of dishes and ingredients. The bread service is a great way to start off this adventure of a meal. For appetizers, the lobster ravioli served me well. As my entree, the sea bass was truly divine. And for dessert, the mille feuille was a perfect way to end off this symphony of a meal. If you are in the city, I most definitely encourage you to try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Cafe Boulud is Michelin for good reason. Came here for my girlfriend’s birthday and we were treated graciously. The service is unbeatable, everything handled with care. The complimentary amuse-bouche of dry aged ham was a nice touch on top of a delicious meal. Duck, Pork Loin, Lobster Rav, and Scallops w/ caviar were all excellent. A French gem in NYC, would recommend to anyone.

A nice decor and upscale cafe vibe. Friendly service. Wish I was able to try the signature sea bass but they sold out by the time of our seating. The appetizers were great and the best part of the meal. The entrees and desserts were ok.
